 I n t r o d u c t i o n    t o    t h e    s i t e


The Web site

This Web site store climatological data from italian AWS in Antarctica, Radiosoundings made seasonly at italian station Mario Zucchelli at Terra Nova Bay and yearly at french-italian station Concordia at Dome C, and allow researchers to access the data and obtain real time charts;
Over time, all the daily data collected at Mario Zucchelli Station at Terra Nova Bay are in archive: TAF, METAR, SYNOP, Weather bulletins, Satellite images, etc..
Also the data transmitted by AWS via Argos satellite are shown in real time.
Users can view and download data, and obtain charts.

''The Meteo-climatological Observatory''describes the importance of climate measurements and the research undertaken in Antarctica.
''Aws stations'' gives an overview of Automatic Weather Stations installed in Antarctica, with technical details and geographic locations.
''Driftometri'' gives an overview of driftometers installed in Antarctica, with technical details and geographic locations.
''Radiosounding'' explains what a radiosounding is, how it works, gives charts from TNB and Domec radiosoundingcan , and gives archived data.
''Access to data'' allows for the viewing and downloading of archived data. The first page allows you to choose the data type, and following pages allow you to choose the period of data etc. Downloads are daily for some data, yearly for others.
''AWS charts''allows you to obtain charts from meteorological data collected by the AWS by choosing: the station, the period, and the kind of chart; Click here for pages on : ''Wind rose''
''Wind and wind chill'' and ''Beaufort scale''
''Photo Gallery'' it is a photographic gallery with photo taken in in Victoria Land during the last expedition. They are grouped by argument.
''Real time data'' in this page is possible to look at the AWS data transmitted by Argos satellite. Data are in real time.
''Reports'' gives a list of publications, works edited or presented to meetings.
